Where Milwaukee's news was made, business gets a new address.

In 1892, architect Walter A. Holbrook raised a slender ten-floor tower at 225 East Mason Street for the Milwaukee Sentinel — the anchor of a stretch of downtown so thick with publishers it was simply called Newspaper Row. Presses ran here for decades, printing the first draft of the city's history.

The Sentinel moved on in 1930, and the building carried other names through the century — most notably the Loewi Building, home to the financial firm that once filled every floor. Through it all, the Romanesque Revival facade, its arched bays and Cream City character, stood watch over Mason Street.

Now MAQ Group is writing the building's next edition: a faithful exterior restoration paired with a complete interior rebuild — twelve premium executive office suites on floors three through eight, the top two floors kept as MAQ Group's own headquarters, and the first two floors given entirely to amenities. History on the outside. Your company's name on the inside.
